Tanjiro Kamado's life gets turned upside down when he finds out that his family was murdered by demons.

TOKYO - To help expand the overseas marketing of anime, manga and other forms of entertainment, the government is considering providing a total of 11.5 billion yen in subsidies to 15 companies with an aim to triple overseas sales to 20 trillion yen by 2033, it has been learned.

The 15 companies eligible for the financial support are expected to include publisher Shueisha Inc. and Crunchyroll, LLC, a video streaming company under Sony Group Corp. The envisioned subsidies are meant to help the companies translate works into foreign languages and hold events outside Japan, according to sources.

The government also aims to use the subsidies to boost the combined number of subscribers to the recipients' services to 300 million from the current 100 million, the sources said.

The Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry is set to announce the companies eligible for the envisioned subsidies, which would cover half of the investment costs that the recipients will incur to promote their works overseas, such as translating them into foreign languages, placing advertisements and taking part in fairs.
