Gauteng schools have resumed issuing learner report cards after the SA-SAMS system was fully restored following a technical disruption linked to the Citrix environment, the department confirmed.

Gauteng schools have resumed issuing learner report cards after the South African School Administration and Management System (SA-SAMS) was fully restored following a technical disruption linked to the Citrix environment, the Gauteng Department of Education said.

The restoration comes after technical difficulties affecting SA-SAMS delayed the issuing of term two progress reports at some public schools ahead of the June 26 closure.

The department said the disruption limited access to learner records and affected schools’ ability to process data required for report cards.

In a statement on Friday, Gauteng MEC for Education Lebogang Maile welcomed the restoration and thanked school communities for their patience during the disruption.
