The alert is in place from 12am until 10am, with 60mph winds and flooding risks expected.00:57, 26 Jun 2026The Met Office has issued a fresh thunderstorm warning in the wake of this week's heatwave.‌A yellow alert is in force from 12am until 10am on Friday, covering the East Midlands, London and the South East, North East, North West, South West, West Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, and Wales.‌Thunderstorms are forecast to sweep northeastwards during the early hours, with the potential to bring 60mph winds and 2mm/hr of rainfall, according to the Met Office.
