ABUJA — The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered the reinforcement of security assets in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State following recent attacks in the area.

The IGP also directed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 4 Headquarters, Makurdi, Dankombo Morris, to relocate to Jos for an operational assessment and coordination of security efforts.

The deployment is part of a broader directive by the police chief requiring all Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to relocate to their respective zones to coordinate ongoing operations against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements across the country.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, the police said AIG Morris visited Akawel community in Mushere District of Bokkos Local Government Area, where he met with community leaders, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to assess the security situation and strengthen ongoing peace efforts.
