Seven people were arrested Thursday on suspicion of taking part in a brawl in an Athens park during which a 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed.
Among the suspects was a 17-year-old youth suspected of delivering the fatal blow with a knife. Police had initially taken in 13 people for questioning, but subsequently released six.
Another ten youths are being sought in connection with the incident.
The stabbing followed a quarrel in a park in the capital’s southern Kallithea district late Wednesday. Its causes were unclear, although police believe soccer violence may have played a part.
Officers are trying to ascertain whether a knife found on the scene was used in the fatal stabbing.
