Madurai City Police have registered a case against three men for harassing woman in the Koodalpudur area here on Tuesday. The 46-year-old woman of S. Alangulam region was running a petty shop in the locality. The accused identified as – N. Ajith Prabu, 27, T. Hariharan, 20, and G. Saravanan, 26, - allegedly had the habit of threatening the woman and grabbing things from her shop. On Monday and Tuesday, the trio, under the influence of alcohol, repeated the same act by picking up eateries from the shop. When the complainant demanded them to pay for the items they took, the three men threatened, scolded and snatched the silver chain that she wore and fled from the scene. Based on the complaint, Koodalpudur police have registered case against the three men under sections – 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 118 (1) (causing hurt using dangerous weapons), 304 (snatching), 351 (3) (aggravated criminal intimidation) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and section 4 (penalties for harassing women) under Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women (TNPHW) Act.
