The MGR Nagar Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly stalking a woman.
The accused, Thamaraivathanan, used to follow the woman everyday as she went to work and returned home, harassing her. Despite the woman warning him several times not to trouble her and telling him that he was younger than her, he allegedly continued to stalk and harass her.
Due to the persistent harassment, the woman decided to vacate her house and was searching for another residence. On March 10 while she was walking in the MGR Nagar area for this purpose, Thamaraivathanan allegedly approached her again, spoke to her in an obscene and inappropriate manner, and issued threats.
The police said the victim, a 30-year-old woman residing in the T. Nagar, who works at a private software company, filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint lodged by the woman at the MGR Nagar police station, the police arrested Thamaraivathanan.
