Soraya Talebi, the mother of Amir Hossein Mousavi, a cyberspace activist known by the alias “James Bedin,” who has been detained since December 2024, says that following a television broadcast about her son during the 12-Day War, the charge of “cooperation with hostile states” was added to his case.

In October 2025, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) aired a video of forced confessions by Amir Hossein Mousavi, accusing him of “espionage and intelligence-security cooperation with Israel.”

Following the broadcast, Amir Hossein Mousavi, who operated under the username “James Bedin” on social media, released an open letter from Evin Prison declaring that all charges against him are “false and distorted.” Mousavi wrote that he was forced to participate in the coerced interview after spending 148 days in solitary confinement, witnessing the arrest of his wife, and being threatened with repeated torture.

Speaking to Emtedad, Soraya Talebi pointed to the status of her son’s case, stating that he has been in detention since December 18, 2024, and that his family remains in “complete limbo.”

According to her, her son was arrested at Mehrabad Airport while traveling to Kish Island, and for a long time, the family had no information regarding his whereabouts or the detaining agency.
