As university and TVET college students confront severe mental health challenges that have had tragic consequences in recent years, government officials and wellness advocates are championing a bold initiative: integrating yoga directly into the classroom.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr Nomusa Dube-Ncube said the gathering comes at a critical moment in history, as the world is filled with deep uncertainty. She cited that across the world there is severe conflict and a massive migration crisis.
She said that in South Africa, particularly in KwaZulu-Natal, these pressures are felt directly.
