Coimbatore district will see credit outgo of ₹ 83,176.47 crore in 2026-2027, according to the annual credit plan book released by District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar recently at a bankers’ meet.The annual credit plan is prepared by the district lead bank (Canara Bank) based on the potential-linked credit plan prepared by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).For 2025–2026, a target of ₹69,498.24 crore was set, and higher amount was disbursed as loans for various sectors. During the current financial year, the Micro, Small and Medium-scale sector will receive the highest amount of loans (₹51,758.52 crore), agriculture and allied activities will get ₹28,639 crore, and the lending to the priority sector will be ₹2,778.68 crore, according to an official press release.
