Crime Intelligence boss Dumisani Khumalo.

The National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA) Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has clarifed reports surrounding arrest warrants issued for senior South African Police Service (SAPS) officers, dismissing claims that multiple officers were facing imminent arrest.

In a statement issued on Friday, IDAC said media and social media reports that emerged following its statement on Thursday contained inaccurate and speculative information.

According to the directorate, warrants of arrest were issued only for Lieutenant General Dumisani Khumalo and Major General Nosipho Madondo.

"The IDAC can confirm that warrants of arrest were issued against General Dumisani Khumalo and Major General Nosipho Madondo only and no one else from the SAPS," the directorate said.
