The National Prosecuting Authority's Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has dismissed reports claiming that the head of Crime Intelligence Lieutenant General Dumisani Khumalo, has been arrested.
In a brief statement issued on Thursday, IDAC spokesperson Henry Mamothame said reports suggesting that General Khumalo had been taken into custody were inaccurate.
"The NPA's Investigating Directorate Against Corruption takes note of the media reports on the arrest of the Head of Crime Intelligence General Dumisani Khumalo," read the statement.
Mamothame said the directorate wished to "set the record straight", emphasising that no arrest had been effected against General Khumalo or any members of crime intelligence.
