Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo.
The National Prosecuting Authority's Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has dismissed reports claiming that the head of Crime Intelligence, Lieutenant General Dumisani Khumalo, has been arrested.
In a brief statement issued on Thursday, IDAC spokesperson Henry Mamothame said reports suggesting that General Khumalo had been taken into custody were inaccurate.
Khumalo and KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi reported to the Brooklyn Police Station for questioning on Thursday after allegedly being requested to do so by IDAC.
Both police officials presented themselves, following a 48-hour ultimatum allegedly issued by IDAC.
