This past week, two big firsts happened. The New York Knicks became champions after winning the NBA Finals for the first time in 53 years, and Herman Miller unveiled the first new colors for its Aeron chair since it first launched back in 1994. Even more fittingly, one of the new colors includes Nightfall, a midnight blue inspired by the Knicks. The desk chair I’ve relied on for nearly a decade also happened to break, and this felt like the perfect time to upgrade and see what the iconic Aeron Chair (and its new design) was all about.
When my colleagues, CNN Underscored’s testing editors, set out to find the best office chair, the Herman Miller Aeron Chair impressed them with an incredibly comfortable and supportive design, but they ultimately couldn’t get over the steep price tag enough to recommend it over more affordable alternatives. But for someone like myself, who sits all day at her desk? The value is certainly there.
