Every Friday, our deals experts set aside their usual affinities for finding discounts to search the web for the week’s best product drops. After all, there are so many new product releases that it’s hard to know what’s worth caring about, let alone worth buying. That’s why we round up a short list of our favorites from the last seven days.

This week, our editors are highlighting our favorite launches from Dyson, Lego and Polaroid. Senior deals editor Rikka Altland checks into see what earns the latest Dyson stick vacuum its steep $980 price tag and sees how Polaroid’s newest compact instant camera compares to its predecessor. She also recaps a chance to play the new Star Fox remake early and gives some first impressions on Lego’s Pokémon Smart Play sets. All that and more below.

Its newest and most capable cordless stick vacuum

Dyson makes some of the best stick vacuums CNN Underscored editors have tested, and this week, a new contender for our favorite landed on store shelves. The Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Absolute, which currently holds our accolade for the brand’s most capable cleaner, may not have it for much longer with the arrival of the new Dyson V16 Piston Animal series.

The new vacuum lineup includes a standard stick vacuum as well as a 3-in-1 wet and dry cleaner that are both the direct successors of the current best-tested models that have impressed our editors. Dyson has improved just about all the specs on its newest releases, while also adding in some entirely new features. Suction is one of the more notable improvements on the V16 Piston Animal series with 315 air watts of power. That’s a step up from the V15s’ 240 air watts of suction and should allow the vacuums to do an even better job at handling sweeping up messes, something that the improved 70 minutes of runtime should also assist with.
