They stated that Michael is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to begin trial on July 1, 2026, before Justice O.H. Oshodi.

A detainee identified as Michael Adeniyi, also known as Adekunle, has maintained that he is innocent of allegations linking him to the theft of valuables worth over N800,000.

The members of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), Lagos State Branch, disclosed that top authorities, including the Lagos State Attorney-General, have shown interest in Adeniyi’s prolonged detention.

According to a report released by CDHR Lagos Branch media officer, Comrade Segun Oluwasanmi, and the branch’s Assistant Secretary, Comrade Samuel Adeoba, the two activists visited the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on Thursday, where they met with Michael and other inmates facing robbery-related charges.

They stated that Michael is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to begin trial on July 1, 2026, before Justice O.H. Oshodi.
