Acting on narcotics intelligence, SAPS and Law Enforcement teams from Operation Lockdown III executed a targeted raid on Tuesday at a Ryburg Road property in Hanover Park.

Operation Lockdown III serves as a comprehensive, multi-agency tactical framework currently utilised by the SAPS to combat the prevalence of gang activity, illegal narcotics, extortion, and aggressive offences across priority zones in the Western Cape province.

Officers searched for a 41-year-old man, discovering 80 mandrax tablets in his possession. These tablets were processed as evidence, and the individual was subsequently taken into custody at the Philippi SAPS station.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including robbery with a firearm, being in possession of an unlicensed weapon and ammunition, and the illegal possession of narcotics.
