A police raid in Zola 3, Soweto on Thursday led to the discovery and seizure of a large consignment of prescription medication intended for illegal distribution. Members attached to the Soweto K9 Unit conducted the operation following a tip-off regarding alleged illicit drug-dealing activities at a residential property.
“The operation was carried out following information received regarding alleged drug-dealing activities at a residence in the area. Upon arrival, the suspect reportedly released vicious dogs and fled the scene,” police said.
Officers managed to gain access to the premises and conducted a search.
“Police members subsequently gained access to the premises and conducted a search. During the operation, various medicines suspected to have been intended for illegal distribution were found abandoned and seized,” police said.
