N. Devanathan has assumed charge as the new Superintendent of Police of Madurai district on Wednesday.He succeeds B. K. Arvind, who has been transferred as SP ‘Q’ Branch in Chennai.A 2013-batch Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Devanathan, was hitherto, Deputy Comissioner of Police, Coimbatore North.He has served in different departments after clearing various TNPSC examinations.He has served in various districts, including Tiruvarur, Chennai, Nagapattinam, Tiruchi, Villupuram, Vellore as DSP and ADSP.He is interested in karate and cycling.
