The family of a 41-year-old Johannesburg man who died after being knocked down while walking to work is demanding answers, alleging the investigation into his death has been mishandled.
Sandeep Uttam died on June 6, a day after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Flamingo Street outside the Total garage in Lenasia at about 7 am on June 5.
Uttam, a salesman at a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Johannesburg South, suffered severe head injuries in the crash and was rushed to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator. He later died from his injuries.
More than a week after his death, his relatives told the POST they are still searching for answers about what happened and how the case has been handled.
