THE family of Sandeep Uttam, a 41-year-old salesman who died after being struck by a vehicle while walking to work, is demanding justice amid allegations of police negligence and missing documents.

Uttam, died on June 6, a day after he was knocked down while crossing Flamingo Street outside the Total garage in Lenasia at approximately 7am on June 5.

He was on his way to work at a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Johannesburg South when the accident happened.

He suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator. He succumbed to his injuries the following day.
