SAPS patrol dog Floppy
Police in the Eastern Cape announced the tragic and heartbreaking death of beloved patrol dog Floppy, that was shot dead in the line of duty at the weekend.
According to the K9 Unit, Floppy was last seen alive on Friday when he was unleashed to pursue a gang of armed robbers fleeing after they had robbed a school.
After the dog bolted into the dense bush, the police handler heard gunshots, and Floppy never returned.
Floppy’s body was recovered on Monday after Search and Rescue units launched a massive search in the dense bushes of NU-16, Mdantsane.
