The global human rights body warned that thousands of Nigerian children continue to face threats from insecurity, conflict and abductions across the country.

Amnesty International made the call on Tuesday night , as the world marked the International Day of the African Child, drawing attention to the plight of children whose education and childhood have been disrupted by violence in several parts of Nigeria.
In a statement released to commemorate the day, Amnesty International Nigeria painted a grim picture of the impact of insecurity on children, citing empty classrooms and abandoned schools in states affected by attacks and kidnappings.
