Global human rights body, the Amnesty International has condemned the Nigerian government over the resurgence of mass school abductions, accusing President Bola Tinubu's administration of failing to develop an effective strategy to end the persistent attacks on educational institutions across the country.

According to Amnesty International, the recurring attacks on schools and the abduction of students show that insecurity remains deeply entrenched despite repeated assurances from government officials.
"The latest mass abductions of school children in Borno and Oyo state clearly show that President Bola Tinubu and his government have no effective plan for ending years of atrocities by armed groups and gunmen that are increasingly having a free reign across many parts of Nigeria," the organisation said.
