Bulls legend Victor Matfield believes a potent weapon for the Bulls in Friday night’s URC final against Leinster (kick-off 8.30pm) is the team’s newfound belief that they can perform overseas.
Matfield says this is a gift from this season’s incoming coach, Johan Ackermann, to the team.
“One of the things I like about Johan Ackermann is that he saw that in the past few years, when the Bulls went overseas, they took weakened teams to play difficult games, and targeted their home games,” Matfield explained.
“Johan came in, and they travelled every time with their best team, and they created belief. They have a fantastic record overseas in this URC, and they have momentum with eight consecutive wins.
