The Bulls will look to their scrum as one of their main attacking weapons against Leinster in the URC final, but according to head coach Johan Ackermann they must earn their ascendency at the set piece.

The Bulls won’t arrive at Croke Park in Dublin on Friday evening thinking they already have the ascendency in the scrums, even if that is one of the areas they will look to target Leinster in the United Rugby Championship (URC) final.

Head coach Johan Ackermann wants his team to work for and earn that dominance to remain in the driver's seat during the contest. But, he warned, they cannot be arrogant and assume things will simply fall into place for them.

Leinster’s scrum came under pressure from the Stormers in the semi-final in Dublin, but they found other ways to gain the upper hand, and that is something the Bulls want to guard against.

Stormers director of rugby John Dobson earlier said that the Pretoria side might have their opponents’ number at scrum time, but warned that Leinster’s attack must be stopped.
