The victory over Pau in the Champions Cup earlier this season should be one of the memorable matches the Bulls look back on as they prepare for the URC final against Leinster in Dublin.
While history will be against the Bulls in Friday’s United Rugby Championship (URC) final against Leinster at Croke Park in Dublin, they can draw confidence from several key matches this season in which they fought with their backs against the wall to reach this point.
The tenure of head coach Johan Ackermann did not begin on the best note, and a few hiccups along the way, including a long losing streak, raised questions about the Bulls’ campaign. However, they have turned things around and produced some brilliant performances to put themselves in this position.
Currently on an eight-game winning run, they can take pride in clashes against Pau in the Champions Cup, where they helped turn their season around, as well as tough away victories over Edinburgh and the Glasgow Warriors in the URC semi-final.
“Sometimes you have to go through the desert before you get to the reward. As a man of faith, I will always believe that everything always works out for the good,” Ackermann said ahead of the final.
