The Special Court for POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act cases has awarded seven years imprisonment to a person for sexually harassing two eighth-year-old girls.According to prosecution, K. Muruganandan, 46, of Sivagnanapuram near Vilaththikulam in the district sexually harassed two eighth-year-old girls in 2023. Following complaint from the parents of the victims, the Vilaththikulam All Women Police arrested Muruganandan.The Magistrate of the Special Court for POCSO Cases Preetha awarded seven years imprisonment to Muruganandan and slapped a fine of ₹15,000 on him on Tuesday.The Magistrate also ordered the Tamil Nadu Government to give ₹2 lakh to the victims.
