CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu City Agriculture Department (CAD) has allocated around ₱30 million for El Niño mitigation measures.

It intensified its farmer assistance programs as it prepares for the possible effects of a prolonged dry spell on the city’s agricultural sector.

Engr. Joey Baclayon, head of the CAD, said that the office began preparations in January after learning that El Niño conditions were expected this year.
