The AAC said Vivian was not just a student but a daughter, sister and aspiring healthcare professional whose life was cut short while pursuing her dreams.

The South-East Directorate of the African Action Congress (AAC) has condemned the killing of Vivian Chilaka, a young nursing student, describing the incident as a painful reflection of the rising insecurity and violence confronting women and girls across Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party expressed shock, anger and sadness over what it described as the “gruesome killing” of Chilaka, calling on security agencies to launch an immediate and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The AAC said Vivian was not just a student but a daughter, sister and aspiring healthcare professional whose life was cut short while pursuing her dreams.

“Vivian was a daughter, a sister, a future healthcare professional, and a young woman with dreams and aspirations. Her untimely death is not only a tragedy for her family and colleagues but also a painful reminder of the growing insecurity and violence faced by women and girls across our society,” the statement read.
