The Sivaganga police on Saturday arrested three men, who sexually assaulted a woman police constable in Sivaganga.A 29-year-old married woman police constable belonging to the Sivaganga area developed an acquaintance with a man named Robin, 28, a resident of Thirupuvanam.On Friday night, Robin took the woman police to a forested area near Sivaganga. At that time, Robin’s friends, Maharaja, 25, and Harish, 21, from Sithalangudi, also arrived there.Subsequently, all three together sexually assaulted the woman. Escaping from them, the victim informed the police control room.The Sivaganga Town Police, who rushed to the spot, rescued her and also chased down and caught the three men—Robin, Maharaja, and Harish—who had committed the sexual assault.District Superintendent of Police R. Shiva Prasad and DSP Amala Edwin conducted an inquiry into this incident.Following this, the Sivaganga All Women Police registered a case and arrested the three individuals.
