A woman and her second husband in Srivilliputtur have been arrested after the woman’s three-year-old daughter was sexually abused and physically tortured by the man.A team of All Women Police Station in Srivilliputtur, led by its Inspector of Police, D. Ananthi, arrested the couple from Jaipur on Sunday where they had gone on a tour. They were sent to judicial custody on Wednesday.The police said that the girl was taken to hospital in May as she developed health complications. Doctors found that the child had been abused and alerted 1098, following which the Child Welfare Committee rescued the child and provided her treatment also for a fracture on her right hand.Upon enquiry, the AWPS registered a case under the provisions of Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and POCSO Act and arrested them.
