Medical services at the school

CHAOS broke out at a school in Nyanga on Monday, with learners rushed to hospital after allegedly eating biscuits bought from a local community vendor.

Police, emergency medical services and panicked parents rushed to Sikelela Primary School in Crossroads, following online reports that a child had died from the consuming “biscuits with pills inside”.

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED), however, debunked the rumours.

Following the incident, five children had to be hospitalised and several others were sent home.
