Lakers Name Yao Williams II VP and Head of Global Partnerships

The Los Angeles Lakers have named Yao Williams II vice president and head of global partnerships. Williams will lead the Lakers global partnerships team, including partnership sales, business solutions and partnership activation, driving revenue-generating opportunities and creating programming and platforms to maximize brand value. Most recently, Williams co-led global partnerships at Elevate Sports Ventures.

FIFA Taps Venue Medical Officer for 2026 World Cup

FIFA World Cup 26 has named Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) sports medicine surgeon Riley J. Williams III as venue medical officer for the 2026 World Cup. The New York/New Jersey area will host matches, including the final, taking place in East Rutherford, N.J., at MetLife Stadium. Dr. Williams will serve as the liaison between FIFA and local medical providers, coordinating 24-hour medical care for all athletes and FIFA officials competing at the New York/New Jersey World Cup location.
