HUMANS swapped the comforts of home for kennels last night when the Kloof and Highway SPCA's 12th annual Dog Box fundraiser got under way on Friday.
The donations have been rolling in and the event had already raised R200 000 by Thursday morning.
There are 24 kennels and 49 participants this year, and the kennels have been decorated, cleaned and sanitised, said the organisation's manager, Barbara Patrick.
“We'd like to get R10 000 per kennel, but we always ask everyone to aim for higher,” she said.
