The 168th meeting of the Divisional Rail Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) of Palakkad Division, Southern Railway, was held on Thursday, at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office in Palakkad.The meeting was chaired by Madhukar Roat, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM). In his introductory address, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Arun Thomas Kalathikkal gave a detailed presentation on the role and functioning of the committee, along with an overview of the major achievements of the Division.The meeting was attended by 11 nominated members, representing trade bodies, passenger associations, industries, consumer organisations and the offices of Members of Parliament. A broad spectrum of issues was deliberated, including train stoppages, ticketing facilities and passenger amenities. The progress of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme in Palakkad Division was also reviewed.Addressing the members, the DRM assured that all suggestions would be carefully examined for feasibility and that necessary action would be taken to implement those found practical and beneficial.Additional DRM Jerin G.
