A new wave of bomb threats disrupted schools, public institutions, media organizations, airports, and other facilities across Bulgaria on Thursday, a day after similar alerts were reported nationwide.

Authorities received multiple warnings in several regions, prompting evacuations and security inspections. In Kardzhali Region alone, ten reports of alleged explosive devices were sent shortly before 11:00 a.m. to schools, kindergartens, and the local office of Bulgarian National Radio. Police activated standard emergency procedures, evacuating students, teachers, and staff while conducting searches of the affected buildings.

The director of Bulgarian National Radio in Kardzhali, Krasimir Angelov, said the threatening message had arrived through the station’s general email account. According to him, the same email was also sent to national and regional media outlets as well as other institutions.

Similar threats were received in the municipality of Sliven, where several schools, including educational facilities in the villages of Gavrailovo and Seliminovo, were targeted. Local authorities implemented the established response protocol and carried out inspections at all affected sites.

In Burgas, schools also received threatening emails. Students and employees were evacuated while specialized police teams searched the premises. No explosive devices were discovered, and the alerts were ultimately determined to be false.
