The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing police have trapped a woman Village Administrative Officer and her aide when they were taking bribe from the complainant on Wednesday.When a financier from Cheranmahadevi submitted application to renew his permit for his business, VAO Idhayakani demanded ₹10,000 from him for the renewal of the license. Subsequently, the aggrieved financier registered a complaint with Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police.Even as her aide Venkatesan received the amount allegedly on behalf of Idhayakani, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Wing police nabbed them on Wednesday.Further investigations are on.
