The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption unit on Thursday arrested the Kurumampet Village Administrative Officer, R. Murugaiyan, for demanding and accepting bribe for issuing a revenue certificate.Based on a tip off that the officer was seeking bribe for issuing legal heir certificate from a woman, the Vigilance authorities laid a trap to arrest the officer. On Thursday, he was caught while taking a bribe of ₹3,000 at his office in Villianur. A case has been registered under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
