A village administrative officer Karthik was reportedly caught redhanded by DVAC sleuths in Cumbum while demanding and accepting ₹5,000 bribe from a man to correct a name on a land record.According to the DVAC, Logamani of Cumbum approached the VAO to correct the name on the land record which was erroneously mentioned as Logarani. VAO Karthik demanded a bribe of ₹5,000 from Logamani to carry out the correction.Logamani lodged a complaint with the DVAC through his relative Kanagaraj and based on the complaint, the DVAC sleuths laid a trap and caught the VAO redhanded after he accepted the amount.
