Road rehabilitation work along La Belle Road between Strand Road and Willow Street in Stikland, Bellville, is progressing well, the City said.
"I would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience thus far, I know it has been a lengthy project," said Urban Mobility mayco member, Rob Quintas, who recently visited the site.
"The road was in a very poor condition and required a much deeper treatment than just resurfacing due to the volume of heavy vehicle movement in this industrial area. I am happy with the progress I have seen on this visit. Residents can look forward to a safer, more reliable road, improved stormwater infrastructure and upgraded sidewalks in this vicinity."
Quintas said progress is less visible because the existing road layers are being recycled in stages, and once a layer has been recycled, it must be left to cure for at least seven days before the next layer can be constructed.
