The Alliance of Nigerian Students Against Neo-Liberal Attacks (ANSA) has condemned what it described as a “barbaric, shameful and criminal attack” on peaceful protesters in Ibadan demanding the release of abducted students and teachers from Ogbomoso.

The group made the allegations in a statement issued on Tuesday, and signed by its National Coordinator, Joshua Temitope Oladepo.

ANSA said, “The Alliance of Nigerian Students Against Neo-Liberal Attacks (ANSA) strongly condemns the barbaric, shameful and criminal attack carried out against peaceful protesters demanding the immediate rescue and release of the 47 abducted teachers and students from Ogbomoso.”

The organisation accused leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and political actors in Oyo State of orchestrating the violence against demonstrators.
