At least 10 areas across the country are expected to experience “danger” level heat index on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, according to PAGASA.Based on the state weather bureau’s five-day heat index forecast on Tuesday, the following areas may record "danger" heat index levels ranging from 42°C to 44°C:44°CInfanta, Quezon43°CAparri, Cagayan Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Surigao City, Surigao Del Norte Hinatuan, Surigai Del Sur42°CCalayan, Cagayan Baler (Radar), Aurora TAU Camiling, Tarlac Dipolog, Zamboanga Del Norte Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del SurMeanwhile, at least 64 areas are forecast to experience ‘extreme caution’ heat index levels ranging from 33°C to 41°C, and at least one area under ‘caution’ heat index levels ranging from 27 °C to 32°C.The following areas in Benguet are forecast to experience "not hazardous" heat index levels:Baguio City - 23 °C BSU La Trinidad, Benguet - 23 °C Benguet Radar, Tuba, Benguet - 18 °CThe heat index refers to the temperature felt by the human body when relative humidity is combined with actual air temperature. High humidity slows the evaporation of sweat, making it more difficult for the body to cool down.PAGASA advised the public to limit their time outside and use umbrellas or caps when outdoors.
