These are the words of the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, in his just released premier encyclical titled, “Magnifica Humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence.” It is a bold, comprehensive and critical analysis tackling one of the greatest trends of our times—the rapid transition and transformation underway in information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics—and the enormous implications for the world and humanity.
