A large fire that broke out at a winery in the Markopoulo area of East Attica on Tuesday morning has been brought under control, the Fire Department said.
There was no information on trapped people in the premises, as it seems that the employees were evacuated in time.
The Fire Department sent a large contingent made up of 35 firefighters, two units of the EMODE forest commandos, volunteers and nine vehicles to prevent the flames from spreading outside the winery’s premises located on Pythagoras Street.
The investigative department of the Fire Service will probe the causes of the blaze.
