The blaze in Veikou Grove, which broke out near a residential area, was quickly extinguished.
Firefighters on Thursday quickly contained a brush fire that broke out in a wooded park flanking the northern Athens suburb of Filothei.
The fire erupted in low vegetation at Veikou Grove near the intersection of Botsari and Metaxa streets, close to a residential area, prompting a large emergency response.
The Fire Service said 47 firefighters were deployed along with 11 fire engines and volunteer crews. A helicopter also assisted in the operation, while the blaze was monitored in real time by drone.
The fire was brought under control before it could spread further. No injuries or damage to nearby homes have been reported.
