Political group, Concerned Political Observers, has said it is closely monitoring the official release of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, primary election results in Anambra State to ensure that they accurately reflect the outcomes recorded at the various local government venues.

The group, which described the election as one of the most significant political developments in the state’s recent history, said several notable candidates emerged victorious during the primaries.

According to Observers, the winners include Ifeanyi Iwuchukwu for the Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency; Eric Ayamene for the Idemili North and South Federal Constituency; Ofumelu for the Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency; Dr Udekaigbo Chibuzo for the Ihiala Federal Constituency; and Ebuka Onunkwo for the Anambra South Senatorial District.

The group stated: “Political attention has also focused on the contest for the Anambra Central Senatorial District, where Pastor Nonso Nwabueze Oli reportedly secured a significant victory over the incumbent senator, Victor Umeh. An insider within the party reportedly told us that Umeh is anxiously awaiting the outcome, amid expectations that his ally, Mr Peter Obi, may intervene in the process.
