The trio of Senators Victor Umeh, Tony Nwoye and Chief Ebuka Onunkwo have emerged as the Senatorial candidates of the Nigeria Democratic Congress for the 2027 general elections.
Umeh emerged as a candidate for the Anambra Central District, while Nwoye and Onunkwo emerged as candidates for the Anambra North and Anambra South Districts, respectively.
They emerged from primary elections for the party’s State and National Assembly tickets, held across the state on Friday.
The exercise, conducted under Option A4, began with the accreditation of registered party members, and voting commenced in the afternoon with an impressive turnout among party members.
The same was true for the State House of Representatives and Assembly, which produced 11 candidates for the Federal House of Representatives and 30 for the State House of Assembly.
