Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have rescued a suspected burglar, Olaleye Williams, from a mob attack in the Oluwo community, Odeda Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, disclosed this in an exclusive telephone conversation with PUNCH Metro on Thursday.
Babaseyi said that 41-year-old Williams was rescued from the mob who had inflicted injuries on him before the arrival of police operatives and was subsequently taken into custody.
He noted that the incident occurred on Tuesday while the suspect was attempting to steal goods from a shop in the area.
He noted that the suspect was caught following surveillance mounted by traders who had experienced repeated theft in the area.
