The command explained that the security arrangement was also designed to reassure residents and visitors of their safety amid increased movement expected during the festive period.
Amid growing security concerns ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Nigeria Police Force has intensified security operations across Ogun State with the deployment of personnel and operational assets to recreational centres, parks, markets, motor parks and other public places to ensure a peaceful festive season.
The police said the move was part of proactive measures introduced by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bode Ojajuni, to guarantee safety before, during and after the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the command disclosed that security operatives had been strategically positioned at Eid prayer grounds, major highways, residential communities, recreational centres, markets, motor parks and other identified public spaces across the state.
According to the statement, the deployment is aimed at ensuring “visible policing, effective crowd control, early threat detection, and swift response to any emerging security concerns before, during, and after the celebration.”
